It was a bit of a hassle setting it up. Apparently both the magnet and the pick up sensor have to be in line with each other (there is a little pointy arrow thingy on the sensor that tells you were the magnet needs to pass through) and that took me a while to figure out. Otherwise the installation took about 20 min.

It would only have taken 10 if I knew they had to be in line and less than 1 cm appart.


The Schwinn bike computer has made our bike rides a lot more fun. It tells you everything you need to know or want to know about a bike ride. It's very durable(I've dropped it a couple of times). Very easy to install and set up. Very low price too. You can spend a lot more, but why? Highly recommend!



READ THE DIRECTIONS!!!Works great! I LOVE THE SCAN MODE!!! Has many functions that are useful for your long trips on the bike.. works very well! Set the magnet on the spokes VERY close to the sensor will make things very easy.



OK, there are 17 functions for $10. That is great but many of them aren't terribly useful. If this had a cadence function it would have gotten 5 stars. I didn't use it in the winter but it has held up well enough in the sun and rain. It seems fairly accurate, my speed matched one of those portable radar signs that tell you your speed. Setup is fairly straight forward if you don't lose the manual. It really is a great deal if you need basic information about your riding.


If you have to choose to spend $20 on some add-on to your bike choose this.

When installed CORRECTLY (which some people have problems with, just read the manual people!) this is a flawless bike computer. It tracks everything you could care about: distance, current speed, average speed, calories, and fat calories burned, etc. It also has a scan mode which rotates through these modes as you're biking so you can look down and see a lot of the data as it cycles (no pun intended) through it's list.

This let's you bike smarter and with greater access to information corresponding to your overall bike workout. I strongly encourage the purchase of this product.


For the price you can't beat it. Wanted a computer to let me know how fast I'm going, average speed, trip miles,
total miles, trip time, current time, temperature and calories burned. It does all of this and very accurately too.
Sure, you could spend more and get a better computer that is also wireless and maybe even has easier function controls. But for $10.00? Depends on how much you want to spend for the info.


It's a great computer and it's a great price. I've had mine for two weeks now and I love it. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys riding their bikes.

The first thing you need to do is read the directions. If you follow them step by step and enter the correct information, you will be up and running in minutes. I installed mine in less than 10 minutes and it works perfectly. I believe a lot of the negative reviews are from people who failed to follow the directions.




for $[...] it's a no brainer and I didn't have any problems installing it (you don't need the magnet to bet 1mm apart. I have mine 5-7mm apart (1/4" or so) and it works just fine. The wheel measurement in mm is somewhat glossed over in the manual, so reading the reviews here help, since you need to enter the wheel circonferance in mm accurately, or else the data is of course bogus.

My only complain is that it has too many bogus functions - like calories, fat burned, etc... it can't know that since it doesn't have a pedal sensor so it has no idea if you clibing up or just crusing at 4mph !
even then it would depend on your bike weigth, rolling restistance, etc...

The problem with having too many toy functions is that you have to cycle through all that crap to get the few tibits of info you care while ridding (speed, time, distance, etc..) which is not optimum. It's hard to see the category when you're ridding twisty single tracks in teh moutain. I would much prefer having 1 screen with all 4 settings and leave it as that for example.


The Schwinn Bike Computer is a great addition to your bike. It was easy to install and more functions that one can use. I only use the speed and distance modes along with the temp. If I, a 76 year old can install the computer with ease, I don't expect you young dudes and gals to have any trouble.


for the price of this little computer it is very worthy of being a schwinn. the comment above mine helped a lot with setting it up and it really only took about 15 minutes to install. i use it every time i ride my bike from home to work and it hasn't let me down yet. im glad i chose this computer. very recommended
